══ WHAT LISTENERS SAY ══

★★★★★ "I've sorely missed google podcasts since it shut down - this is essentially a perfect replacement which does everything I could want."
- Joseph Newman, Google Play

══ SWITCH FROM ANY PODCAST APP ══

OPML import lets you migrate subscriptions from Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Podcast Addict, AntennaPod, Castbox, Podcast Republic, Podcast Guru, Podbean, Spotify, Overcast, the discontinued Google podcast app, or any RSS-based podcast catcher.

══ FIND ANY PODCAST ══

Listen to shows from independent podcasters and major networks - BBC, NPR, ABC, Wondery, iHeart, Vox, the New York Times, The Guardian, ESPN - plus popular shows like The Joe Rogan Experience, Serial, This American Life, Crime Junkie, Stuff You Should Know, The Daily, Hardcore History, Radiolab, Huberman Lab and Lex Fridman.

══ A SOLO INDIE APP ══

I'm an Australian Android developer building Shuttle Podcasts for listeners who want a simple, fast podcast app without bloat.

You may know my other apps: Shuttle Music Player and Muzei Music Extension. When my favourite podcast app shut down, nothing quite hit the spot - so I built something for myself in the same minimal spirit. Clean, fast, focused on what matters: listening.

It's been working well for me for a while now, and I've been polishing it into something I can be proud of.

══ BUILT FOR POWER USERS ══

Underneath the simple UI, there's a wealth of features for serious podcast listeners. Customise playback, manage your subscriptions, organise your queue, download episodes for offline listening, and much more.

══ THE SHUTTLE PHILOSOPHY ══

Just like Shuttle Music Player, Shuttle Podcasts respects your battery and your privacy. Built in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, Media3 for playback, and Material 3 design - it feels like the app came with your phone.

I'm a solo developer based in Australia, and I'm building this because I love Android, audio and podcasts.

Download Shuttle Podcasts and join the listeners who value simplicity.

So I love the Google podcast UI clone of it basically my only issue is, I can't mark all titles from a certain pointed as played which makes moving from another app annoying. I also wish it would just play the next episode of whichever podcast I'm playing without having to go and add it to the queue. Other than that it's a well made app with a clean UI which is rare for podcast app I feel like.

Thanks for the kind feedback David. I'll consider those feature requests, keep an eye out for updates (usually about one per month at the moment).

Off to a good start. it's modeled after the Google podcast app for better or worse. it gets regular updates. works well on carplay. doesnt crash. Some minor issues that I'm sure will we get worked out: 1. most of the time hitting the play button on a new podcast will load it but not play. 2. I don't know why but it'll autoplay already played podcasts. I see no logical reason why this would be intentional. I can't see. to figure out how to get played podcasts to be ignored.

Thanks for the review Matt! I'll investigate those issues you mentioned, having podcasts load but not play sounds annoying. And autoplaying already played podcasts - actually I may have fixed this in dev already. Keep an eye out for updates.

I like how simple and responsive it is, just wish it were a little more powerful, eg. adjustments to volume or EQ per podcast, and also skipping X number of seconds at start or end of each podcast, again, a per podcast setting. also some small bugs with ui, like tapping playback bar doesn't always work. also I had to remove 2 stars because there aren't forward and back buttons, like skip to next podcast or previous one. idk how

Thanks for the review J. I will definitely think about how I might integrate some of those suggestions. I'd love to chat on the Discord if you have some time, to find out the why behind volume/eq for different podcasts. You're right about the lack of skip buttons.. I guess I figured seek would suffice. Need to consider that also.

What’s new

• Shuttle has a new app icon
• Fixed the rate-the-app prompt, which could open nothing at all
• The playing row in the queue now lines up with the rows around it
